چکیده

Abstract Nitrite (NO2?) accumulation and retaining of anammox bacteria are two decisive factors for stable operation partial denitrification coupled with the process. Denitrifying ammonium oxidation (DEAMOX) process has been regarded as a promising method nitrogen removal from wastewater containing both (NH4+) nitrate (NO3?) pollutants simultaneously. However, performance efficiency DEAMOX in biofilm reactors still not fully understood. This study successfully implements biodegradable Luffa Cylindrica fiber carbon source carrier system. 87% nitrate-to-nitrite transformation was achieved through An average total (TN) ~98% obtained influent NH4+-N NO3?-N concentration 100 mg L?1 an up-flow packed bed reactor. The Field Emission-Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) analysis indicated that proposed conditions, reactor favor granulation developed on L. cylindrica. results imply solid phase were using cylindrica carrier, respectively. New anaerobic process of nitrogen removal.

This paper reports on successful laboratory testing of a new nitrogen removal process called DEAMOX (DEnitrifying AMmonium OXidation) for the treatment of strong nitrogenous wastewater such as baker's yeast effluent. The concept of this process combines the recently discovered ANAMMOX (ANaerobic AMMonium OXidation) reaction with autotrophic denitrifying conditions using sulfide as an electron d...

Biological Phosphorus and Nitrogen Removal from Wastewater Using Moving Bed Biofilm Process

In this research, an experimental study to evaluate nutrient removal from synthetic wastewater by a lab-scale moving bed biofilm process was investigated. Also, kinetic analysis of the process with regard to phosphorus and nitrogen removal was studied with different mathematical models. For nutrient removal, the moving bed biofilm process was applied in series with anaerobic, anoxic and aerobic...

Application and kinetic evaluation of upflow anaerobic biofilm reactor for nitrogen removal from wastewater by Anammox process

The lab-scale upflow anaerobic biofilm reactor was successfully operated for the treatment of synthetic wastewater with high nitrogen load by Anammox (anaerobic ammonium oxidation) process. During the entire period of operation, the reactor temperature was kept at 35±1°C. The operational strategy consisted of both increasing the ammonium and nitrite concentrations from 60 to 700mgN/L and from 8...

Biological Nitrogen Removal Using Anaerobic Ammonium Oxidation

ANaerobic AMMonium OXidation (Anammox) is an efficient microbiological process for the removal of ammonia nitrogen from wastewater. Although several Anammox reactors have been operated successfully in European water pollution control plants, there are challenges associated with the process which must be addressed to ensure dependable performance when treating high strength wastestreams in New Y...
